Guilt and light up shoes

Caden has been doing pretty well but I think it's been a lot to take. I think he might be craving some quiet time like the old days. Just a day with he and I. Anyway - I've been feeling really bad for him and yesterday I was upset enough that I started to tear up because he'd gotten into trouble and I, being hormonal and overtired and riddled with guilt, started to cry thinking it's a terrible mess and will he survive it? Well, he sees me and starts to cry. Oh boy! So we hugged and hung out and we talked and we cuddled and it was all good. Today was the day we were finally able to go out with him. My mom and I took him to the library in the mall to get some movies and books. Then he rode on the little cars in the mall hall way and got some jelly beans. We wandered down to Walmart for nuggets but on the way we stopped in at payless. We ended up seeing these "Cars" shoes that light up. He wanted them. I didn't really want him to have them. But ...

Dr.'s appointment

Today was my first outing with the kiddoes. My dad and I got all the babies into their carseats and then into the van and drove them down to the doctor's office. We pulled them all out of their seats and put two into a stroller (just a single one with them lying in it) and carried one. I waited in the lobby while dad parked the van. When he came back we went up to the office. Whew! We did their measurements one at a time. Two of them peed in the scale and two of them complained about being man handled. Guess who didn't? Yup - Evan. He never complains. He doesn't even cry when he has a bath. Then we went in to see the doctor and he checked them all out. He said they all look really good and seem to be doing well. He assured me that at this age, it was normal for them to sleep all the time, except to wake up to eat. He told us how much they should be eating and we are pretty close to that, so that's good. Here are some numbers : All the boys are putting weigh...

Lots of Loving

Today was full and really special. It started with my parents sending Justin and I out for breakfast together and then we went to Walmart for a bit. I haven't been anywhere in almost 2 months, so it was a real treat, believe me!! We had lots of visitors today. During the day my auntie Avis and my cousins Vicki (with her 2 boys) and Kim (with 2 of her 3 boys) came from Estevan. My parents even made turkey dinner and completely spoiled us once again. The boys slept pretty much the entire day and got lots of love and cuddles. Caden had a ball with the kids. They even got to play outside for awhile today. In the evening a pile of friends popped in. Noel and Amy, Andrea, Crystal, Deanna and Jason and Shannon (and I finally got to meet their little girl). Caden loved being the center of attention and the babes got some more lovin'. All around it was a really nice day. And now, around midnight, I will feed the babies again, go to bed until 4ish (unless one of them wakes up s...

Sunday

We are still doing well! My parents are doing so much that I am able to rest. We are well fed, there are groceries in the cupboards, the house is clean, the dishes are done, the laundry is done, the babies are fed, changed and taken care of. It's fantastic. I'm feeling quite good, moving around a lot more and not really having any pain. I'm trying to eat lots (of healthy stuff!! Anyone want to come and eat all of our halloween candy?) so that I can get some energy back. I'm super tired of course but even that isn't too bad at the moment. The babies sleep all the time so this stage isn't too crazy yet :). We have gone through many many diapers already - I haven't been counting but it's been a lot! And lots of sleepers too! The boys swim in their preemie stuff even. It'll be nice to see them fill those out. The public health nurse had been here last friday and then came back today just to check the babies weights and in those two days Dylan h...

So Happy

I wish I were more poetic or just a better wordsmith period. I wish I could express how full my heart feels. And how in awe I feel. I think back over the journey that led us to where we are now and am so emotional about it all. I look back over how God was working in us the whole time so that not only have we finally gotten our family but we have grown as we travelled this road. I hope that we will never forget to appreciate every moment with our children. I have shed tears for so many people who haven't been able to have children or have lost children. I know a little of how it feels to have your heart broken and I spent so many months and years mostly sad, wondering if I would always feel that way. It's an amazing place to be - this place I am in right now. Talk about the "UPS" of ups and downs. We have been gifted these 4 boys and I cannot imagine anything better than this. We are home now and really happy to be starting this new chapter of our lives. I...
