Cathedral Village Arts Festival

Our neighbourhood had their annual Cathedral Village Arts Festival last week and weekend. The weather on the weekend warmed up just in time for most of the outdoor events. We weren't sure what to expect having never been before but we had a really good time. Friday night we headed over to a park just off of 13th here where they had a drum circle, apuppet parade and a belly dancer. Caden was just having a blast. There were kids everywhere and just a really festive atmosphere. On saturday they had some dancers on the stage at the same park and then we visited the street fair which was down much of 13th street. I was especially impressed with all the kids that performed at the dances. We watched Irish dance. The cutest thing to see and then there was caribbean dancing. I wish I had an ounce of the rhythm those kids had! Wow. At the street fair there were tonnes of vendors with items to buy and items to eat. There were performers all over as well. That included kids playing the violin

Caden Outside

Here's some pictures of Caden playing outside the other day. I was just having some fun with the camera on an absolutely beautiful day. This is the first time Caden has ever seen a plane fly over him. He wasn't too sure what to make of it but he must be my child because he kept following it, wondering where it was going I'm sure!!

Clearview Christian Camp

We went out to Clearview Christian Camp last weekend and then to Estevan to finish up the long weekend. Camp is looking good and just waiting for all of you to get out there and enjoy it. Send your kids - go yourself. Another summer is upon us! We'll be out there for work days June 2 and 9, at least. We are building a new craft building - so come if you like. If you want any info just ask us or check the website www.clearviewchristiancamp.ca Anyway - not much to fill people in on. Caden is busy as ever and growing like crazy. Has a couple more teeth (4 & 5) coming in. He's a pretty happy guy most of the time. Justin is working really hard at work. He's SO busy. He's a pretty happy guy most of the time too ;) but work has been a little heavy. I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up again. It will right? Have a happy weekend everybody!

No Opportunity Wasted

I had such a fun time yesterday!!! I got to meet Phil Keoghan. I love him and his philosophies. I have read some of his book and it inspires me everyday!! If you don't know who he is - he is the host of Amazing Race and he lives his life FULLY and in a way that will leave him with no regrets. Do you have a list of things you want to do in your life? It's a wonderful idea I had seen alot before. I have a list that I started more than 10 years ago and I have made some of those things happen. It was refreshed for me and others when Phil Keoghan wrote a book and started a show called No Opportunity Wasted (Phil is the host of Amazing Race as well) where people were challenged to face their fear and reach for their dreams. You apply and if they accept you they just show up at your house or at work and you get 72 hours and $3500 to take that step. They arrange days off work or childcare - whatever. Now they are doing the show in Canada - on CBC. You can apply on NoOpportu

Caden's second first birthday

Here's pictures from Caden's Estevan Birthday party. We all had lots of fun. And just for the record - I do not support the orange outfit but it is only polite to let him wear it since it was a gift :). Just kidding - Thanks Tim. For anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about - Tony stewart drives the #20 Home Depot Car in Nascar and I'm not a fan. Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate Caden's birthday.
