Caden's Magical Christmas

We had another fun Christmas with family. There were 8 adults and 6 kids all staying over for 3 nights. It was a real party. Lots of fun and food and laughs. Good memories were made for sure. As soon as we arrived in Estevan on saturday Caden was excited to see grandma & grandpa's train and Christmas village. He loved it. He spent the entire holiday saying "grandma - choo choo?" and she would take him and they'd hang out at the train. We were worried he was going to start calling her "choo choo" there for awhile but he is actually quite proficient at the words grandma and grandpa, auntie and uncle now. Having Fun 'playing Ping Pong' in the basement On Christmas Eve the 14 of us (that includes 4 car seats) loaded up into a rental van and went on a twinkle tour. Caden had fun yelling out "'anta (santa), pretty (for lights and trees) and 'choo choo'" Christmas Morning came and Caden woke up first so I was second and we

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I just wanted to wish everyone who checks in to our blog a very merry christmas. We are looking forward to some days off and some good times with family. It's going to be fun to see Caden get a little more into the whole Christmas experience. I think he is going to go CRAZY with all the presents and paper and new things. Not to mention the junk food. Yikes!! I'm so excited to experience it all through his eyes. I'm also excited for Justin to have some time off to just relax and have fun. All the best to everyone out there - have some fun and make some great memories!!

Natalie McMaster

We had such a good time last night. We went with friends of ours to see Natalie McMaster. We had supper at the keg first and then headed over to the Casino Show Lounge. What a great show. She is fantastic. I could listen to that music forever. We decided that we wanted to go and spend Christmas with her and her family in Cape Breton. Wouldn't that be a riot? If you don't know her music - check it out - it makes me happy. She had a cellist, a bassist, a drummer, and pianist and a bagpiper/flutist/banjo player/etc./etc. This guy was super talented. Actually, they were all quite amazing. I just can't get over people having that kind of ability. I am So glad that we went. Thanks to Todd and Linsday for coming with us!

Dreams

What do you think dreams are? I mean the ones we have at night while we are sleeping. Are they our deeper concerns come to light? Are they random wanderings of the mind? Is it our subconscious working through things? Is it God speaking? Can it be ? My dreams have always seemed to express my fears. They are usually very stressful and I don't enjoy dreaming. Last night was different though. Last night I dreamt that I had a little tiny baby, about the size of my palm. It's little eyes would open and close and it's little chest would move up and down with breath. I was so in love with this tiny thing. I was terrified that it would stop breathing up and down, up and down. And I knew that it was my responsibility to make sure it lived. The baby grew fast, too fast. He became as tall as a 6 year old in a few days and was very happy, but he had trouble walking and speaking and it was just obvious that something was very wrong. Justin and I prayed and realized that o

Water Play

We had no plans to do anything yesterday but Caden was getting antsy. I cranked the heat, stripped him down and brought out some buckets of water. That kept him busy for quite awhile. Lots of fun!

Fun with Friends

Justin received a very fun gift yesterday from someone who clearly knows him. He got a marshmallow shooter. So he and Aaron went out and picked up some marshmallows and we had a blast. Caden thought it was the funniest thing ever. Here Justin is shooting at Caden - marshmallows are bouncing off of him and he is laughing so hard!! Now Caden is shooting me as I take this picture and again - thinks it is absolutely hilarious. Bailey is terrified and cowered by the door until he finally went upstairs just to be safe. And if you know Bailey, he is not one to leave the party but we drove him away. Once we were done with the marshmallow shooter we decorated gingerbread cookies. Keep scrolling to see the masterpieces. The guys finished the night off with a couple of games of PS2 hockey and Caden was right in there, of course.

Caden & Santa

Last night we went to the Cornwall Mall to visit Santa. Caden wasn't too sure about him but was willing to sit for a picture. I really enjoyed being out and about with all of the other Christmas shoppers. It wasn't too busy and the Mall is decorated really pretty - all blue and silver. It was very Christmassy. I know it was the mall and that's all the materialistic part but still. It's like a christmas wonderland with the decorations and the music and the hustle and bustle. We had a nice time out together.

Cousin Gabby's Birthday

I realize that this was a week ago but our computer has been under construction :) and only today have I been able to get at my pictures. Anyway - last weekend we went to Estevan for Gabby's birthday. Here's a few pictures of the birthday girl, first at her house for the 'kid' birthday party where they made cupcakes and then at Grandma and Grandpa Jocelyn's for the adult part. The last one is of Caden and Jaiden. Caden just went over and crawled up on Jaiden. He just loves his big boy cousins.
