In the box

Dylan is always in one box or another but this time his brothers decided to join him. They all climbed in here completely on their own. Uh oh - Dylan sees the camera and wants it!! Last picture!

Tonight

Our night was lots of fun. I just love my kids. Anyway - here's Caden at gymnastics. He loves going so much. Balance Beam Trampoline Doing 'the star' I had to lighten these pics - none of them were very good in the gym. But here he is on the rings and the bars. This was our welcome when we got home. How lucky are we to get a welcome like this! The boys came flying from every corner of the room when they heard us come home. It was pretty special! Caden says he's a 'hero' because he can lift this up. He says he's pretty strong! Now - what do you think? Do we risk it or not? I pulled out our artificial tree and put it up just to see what the kids think of it. I'm not sure it's a good idea to put ornaments on it but I'm kind of a Christmassy person and I'd be sad if I couldn't put up a tree... But is it worth it? Dylan and Evan both eyed it up for a long time before they approached it (and yes, if you look hard you can see the bran

Aahhh....

Guess who got to go away with her hubby, without kids for the whole weekend? Guess who got to sleep in, go out for meals, see two movies and sit in a hot tub, without kids this weekend? Guess who thinks her parents are fabulous!!? That would be me. My parents volunteered to watch all 4 of the boys (Caden did get to hang out at his friends for one night) so that we could get away. It was perfect timing as we were both feeling a little frazzled. It's funny how the things we did without thinking about it for years before kids are now so exciting and a total novelty. It was very relaxing and we came home feeling a little more like our normal selves. I can't thank my parents enough. It was so amazing!

ok - one more

I'm going to stop watching these videos now. Not sure how I got onto it. Anyway - this was another one that I liked. It shows how hard it is but how you wouldn't have it any other way. I decided to post it because it brought tears to my eyes (happy ones don't worry!). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRQI5XOiE2Q

Too too funny

I came across this today and laughed and laughed. I thought I'd share it because it gives a great depiction of what it is like for us to go out, all together. I'm not as bothered by it as it shows on here. I understand that the questions are not usually meant to be mean or hurtful. And it is an oddity. I might as well admit it! I probably would have looked too! Actually I do! I'm worse now than ever. Anyway - I just think that it is great that someone actually videotaped the experience of going out with triplets and an older child. So, if you are curious, check out this link. And like I said - I don't take it this seriously but it really is like you see here and I've heard every single one of these comments. I do like how the parents answered some of the things. Pretty good! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GE6 zQ8FWok

The volume of our lives

The kids were so bored. They were just crying and whining and picking on each other and fighting over toys. Every once in a while I pull out the pots and pans because it keeps them busy for awhile and gives them something new to do. I choose that sound over the sound of whining and crying. I definitely prefer it. But it is loud and I just had to chuckle at what 4 boys banging on pots and pans sounds like. It is always so loud at our house and I just had to get pictures of this to remember it by. Not only are they banging on the pans but they are screaming and yelling along with it. Evan decides to clap halfway through. Oh it's just funny.

Liam decides to walk

Yesterday we had some friends over and Liam decided that it was going to be the day that he started walking. Once he had tried a few and it worked out ok he was a lot more confident and just kept doing more and more. Way to go Liam!

Never caught up

For once, a week flew by. That's likely because I had a good friend visit for a couple of days. I got to go for a pedicure and out with my husband to see a comedian and then he was off on Wednesday. Yesterday was moms and tots and now here it is, friday already! I'm so glad. I wish that that meant I was all caught up on my stuff to do but that never really happens does it? I used to get that feeling sometimes. Back when it was just Caden and I during the day. Going from one kid to four kids in one fell swoop definitely takes adjusting to and after a year - I'm still not used to it. I still want to get my errands run and groceries purchased and all my housework done, during the day, while Justin is at work. HA HA HA. That will not ever happen again. That's disconcerting to me. I'm a slow learner I guess. I'm also having a hard time admitting, even after a year of trying to get 'caught up' and it never happening, that it never will. My big job

A Lone Light of Red in a Sea of Green

The date was Saturday, August November (thanks Crystal for the correction) the 7th, 2009. A day that will live on in the lore of an entire nation. It is the day the Rider's clinched first place in the Western Division. Their foes were the powerhouse team from Calgary, Alberta, the Stampeders.... my team. I wasn't going to go to the game but a day before, my friend Todd phoned me to offer me a free ticket. The only problem is I had to sit with his Rider Family. I thought long and hard about whether or not I should go, but my team needed me so who am I to say no to fate. In hindsight, perhaps I should have worn less Stampeder gear. It started as soon as I stepped out of my car at Todd's house. There were boos and choruses of "Stamps Suck" and that was just coming from my friend Todd and his family. The brother-in-law (who got us the tickets) was even searching for some homeless guy to take to the game instead. But in Regina, even the homeless have season tickets so

Go Riders!!

The kids asked to wear their new tshirts and who am I to stop them from showing their rider pride? Looking good boys, looking good!! And check out their cheering. Impressive.... And success of all successes - Caden agreed to put on the tshirt and even cheer! I have to admit it wasn't immediate but in the end he made the best decision. Hey Justin, where is your green?

Immunizations

To celebrate being one the boys got to go and get their one year immunizations on wednesday. What a party that was! Caden ended up going to a friends' and my parents were in town so they came with me. We each had a kid and it was still quite a job. They are so busy and were crawling all over the place and just being busy one yr. olds. They each cried when they got their needles. Dylan actually did the whole holding his breath for a few seconds thing. He didn't do it too terribly long though thank goodness. The nurse told us that they have actually had a kid pass out from doing that. Yikes! Anyway - we each got our baby calmed down and dressed and home again. It was time for their naps and they all have been fine. No fever or grouchiness at all. They did really well. I am so glad that mom and dad came though. It was a huge job. And I'm especially glad that it is overwith! Whew!

Three Little Monkeys Party

Our little monkeys turned one year old yesterday and it was a great day. I have a lump in my throat as I sit down to write a bit about the day. It means so much to me to have these beautiful boys and it's at significant times like this that my heart feels even more full and overflowing than usual. On top of that, I can feel the love that pours out all around us and our kids from everyone in our lives. We are just so blessed. And for those of you that want them, here are a LOT of pictures from the party. The past week was dominated by cake creation. Justin, with help from our friend Todd, made these cakes with love for the boys. We sang happy birthday to each boy individually, in order of birth and let them see their cakes. The bigger boys helped blow out the candles! I was surprised to see that by the end, Dylan was the tidiest cake eater. They all enjoyed their first taste of sweet sweet chocolate cake and icing. YUM! Present Time!! It was a little wild. I should have b
