Smilebox

The Pre - K teacher did up little ditties about each of the boys, from their first day of school. It's so sweet of her.  Thought I would share them.  Click on each name to see their smilebox. Liam Evan Dylan

Getting it together

The little boys have been in school for one week.  I have organized and shopped and got projects done like crazy.  I've done more in the past week than I could usually accomplish in a month!!  It has been exhilarating to work on a project, even for only 2 hours, without interruption.  Or to run out to the store right when I need something!  I'm tired after a long day of moving furniture around and moving books and boxes and all of the 'clutter' that a person accumulates.  It's nice to get rid of a lot of it and to remember the good stuff that is worth keeping.  We've also had two swimming lessons and all the kids are doing well.  Last week,  Caden started piano lessons again.  He's struggling with wanting to practice so we'll see how it goes.  He likes it once he gets going and accomplishes something.  I stocked the freezer with meals for a month so I don't have to think about that during the day.  I just pop something in the crock pot and off I go.

First Days

Caden started grade one last week.  He was more than ready.  It took me a couple of days to adjust to having him gone all day.  I missed him.  He's wonderfully conversational so I hear about his day when he comes home and we just spend some time together and chat.  It's so nice.  He's grown up so much.  What a great kid. Today was the first day of Pre-K for the little boys.  They were also very excited.  We went to the classroom last week for an open house so they knew where they were going and how much fun it is there.  I kept pushing down that lump in my throat and got through it with no tears shed.  I can't believe they are this big already.  And yet, it seemed to take a long time to get here :) Backpacks ready for school.  They each chose the backpack they  wanted and we ended up with 4 identical backpacks. Dylan, Evan and Liam - ready to go! All three boys heading into the school building. All three boys immedi

Farewell Summer

After reading another friends' blog and thinking about how glad I am that they blog so that we can keep up with what is going on with their family even though we live in different places, I felt a pang of guilt for not keeping mine up over this last little while.  I thought I should give an update.  We did our best to soak up as much of the last bit of summer holidays that we could.  Before school started we attacked our 100 things to do list which included a weekend with Justin's brother Josh (I was away at the spa with my good friend Vicki - Aaaaahhhh Lovely!!) where he and Justin took the boys bowling, on mall rides,to the photo booth and then home to have a pillow fight with Risa ( our new friend from Japan that was here as an ESL student) and make paper airplanes.  When I got home I joined them and we had a party night.  We took the kids on a hike to top a hill and watch the sun go down.  They we did a pinata, made balloon animals, made caramel popcorn, did potato stampin
