As Promised

Ok - I promised some pictures this week so here are some that I took this month. Most were taken while we were just hanging out at home. Some were taken at the library a few weeks ago. There is one of Liam's injury. He fell against the corner of our pantry and slit his eyelid a bit. Poor kid. He's healing up fine. The last few were taken in Estevan during a weekend we spent there. And, as Justin mentioned in his last post, there are no pictures of the kids from last weekend :) Enjoy!

My Ever Growing Appreciation and AWE!!

So, awhile ago, Jen and I talked about the possiblity of her going to Ladies Retreat for the weekend of February 19th to the 21st. Of course my first response was, "For sure. No problem sweetie. You deserve it. So, how many of the babies are you taking with you?" ... Then, when I woke up from the concussion about an hour later, I realized she means to leave me at home with all the babies and Caden for the entire weekend. ... Then, when I woke up after hyperventalating and passing out, I did decide that for sure she did earn this weekend away. I can do this for a weekend right? RIGHT?? I mean, how bad could it be. (you women out there can stop giggling now) As time moved on, it turned out that my Mom wanted to go to Ladies Retreat as well so her, my Dad and my little brother Josh were going to come up just before the weekend and then Mom and Jen would go up to ladies retreat and us MEN would hang out at the house for the weekend and take care of the babies. So now, I am thinki

I'll be back

I will blog again - I promise. It won't be until next week at the earliest. I just don't have a lot of time these days. But I'll post pictures of the kids when I get a chance. Especially for those of you that don't get a chance to see them very often.

Ya just never know

We got a little more sleep last night. I guess that doesn't mean anything unless I tell you that we got about an hour of sleep the night before. Every kid took a turn being up throughout the night. Except Dylan. He napped 3 hours that afternoon and then from 830 until almost 8 the next morning. Even through all the noise and crying that came from everyone else. He's a sleeper! Evan and Liam must be getting teeth or something was bothering them. Not sure what. Caden has been waking up wanting more lights turned on or saying that he is having a bad dream. Not the phase I'm wanting when we haven't even gotten to where the little kids sleep through regularly. But then last night the kids slept til 6ish. Well, except Caden, he was up around 530ish - same thing as above. Figures that the almost 4 yr. old is getting up even without the little guys being up. What luck! Anyway. We feel much much better today. Now the question is why the big difference? First of a

Evan

Well, our laid back little Evan is starting to take more and more steps so it's pretty exciting around here. We all cheer and clap and he gets all excited. It's fun. Yesterday he just started letting go of whatever he's hanging onto and taking 5 or 6 steps to the next thing or to us. 15 months old and 3 months after Dylan, but he's doing it and doing it in his own time. Such a cutie. So - we still can't say that he's walking officially but it at least appears to be on his agenda now!

Exciting?

I didn't think I would care one way or the other about this - if anything I was feeling a little annoyed at the extra distance I will now have to drive - but interestingly - I'm a little bit excited now that the day is approaching. It opens this wednesday, down in our end of the city - a Walmart Supercenter. It's huge!! Yes - we drove by it. I grew up in a small town. That's what you do - you drive by the new stuff - it's very exciting. Anyway - did I mention that it is huge! and all new and shiny. I like new and shiny things :) It has groceries and all you could ever want. I feel a little guilty - big corporation taking business away from everyone else - but, selfishly, I now have a one stop shop without going all the way over to the Superstore on the East End. So that'll be my big adventure one of these days - going to Walmart! :). I will miss having the mall attached though. I'm not sure about living in one of the coldest inhabited climates i

It was a full weekend.

Last weekend was a really full weekend. And now it has taken me a week to get around to blogging because this week was really full. Mostly good stuff. The bad news first - our car is done (as mentioned in my last post), our dishwasher and oven don't work properly and we had to put tires on our van. What in the world! All at once? Oh well. The fun stuff starts last week when Caden had a couple of his friends over. This is Breanna and Jesse. Some friends from down the street. On Saturday morning we decided to load up the kids and we all went to Caden's soccer game. The little guys just wanted to get in there and participate so it was as crazy as was to be expected but it was still nice to get out of the house and for me to have a chance to see Caden play. I know this is pretty fuzzy but I love his stance in this pic. He loved running around and trying to kick the ball. Another sport lover I'm thinking. Once the game started we kept the kids on this big mat for awhil
