Last weekend was a really full weekend. And now it has taken me a week to get around to blogging because this week was really full. Mostly good stuff. The bad news first - our car is done (as mentioned in my last post), our dishwasher and oven don't work properly and we had to put tires on our van. What in the world! All at once? Oh well.
The fun stuff starts last week when Caden had a couple of his friends over. This is Breanna and Jesse. Some friends from down the street.

On Saturday morning we decided to load up the kids and we all went to Caden's soccer game. The little guys just wanted to get in there and participate so it was as crazy as was to be expected but it was still nice to get out of the house and for me to have a chance to see Caden play.
I know this is pretty fuzzy but I love his stance in this pic. He loved running around and trying to kick the ball. Another sport lover I'm thinking.
That outing was tiring so we debated the next event but hey! Once they are out and about you might as well make it really worth it. So we headed to the Regina Parents of Multiples Association (rpoma)'s carnival. It turned out to be really fun. We met some people. It was neat. There was a set of twin boys there that were born 3 days after our boys and their dad was in my class in Estevan! Small world. I guess when she (and another mom I met whose twins were born on Nov.12 - 9 days after ours) would go for their checkups and stuff the staff would tell them about us and how we were doing and they wondered if we'd meet up some day. It was valuable to me to talk to them and compare stories and whatnot. We also chatted with a mom who was there with her 4 year old triplets. She asked how old ours were and when we said "15 months" she said "oh, I'm sorry". She went on to say that it does get better and easier to manage. At 4 her kids sleep thru til a normal hour. They get up on their own and go watch tv and have cereal. Sounds dreamy!
There were typical carnival things there. Bean bag toss, hockey shootout, clown, food.

Another thing that was interesting to me was that they all asked if we had help and were surprised to hear that we didn't. The lady with the 4 yr. olds said her parents moved to Regina when her kids were born and the ones with twins weren't sure how we did it with triplets and an older boy. I just think differently. God gave us what we asked for and therefore it is my responsibility to manage it. We do ok...
After that outing we headed home for the kids to nap and after their nap we loaded them back up and went to Tim and Tara's for pizza night and to try letting them be at someone else's house for awhile. I think it went alright. I know that the kids LOVED getting out and I'm glad that they got to see new things and new people. I sure felt better to have given them a few new experiences. I felt they were stagnating in our house all those days in a row.
The next day, sunday, we had some company come and play with our kids. This is Carissa, Shania and Karen but we also had Caleb and Lisa Vance. I got to sit on the couch and let them play with the kiddoes. A nice treat. Thanks guys!
