Soccer, Amazing Skies and the Last Day of Kindergarten

Last week saw soccer come to an end.  The three little boys didn't play much unfortunately but they sure are cuties. Last night we saw these fantastic clouds.  I loved loved loved them.  Felt like I was standing in a painting.  Wow! Today was Caden's last day of Kindergarten.  He was so proud!  They had an assembly where they did some songs and a couple of dances. Caden made us proud.  He's such a great little boy! Saying goodbye to his classmates and his teacher at the end of the day.  He's in line to give her a big hug.  Can't wait for the little boys to have her in 14 months!!

Guess what is the #1 Western Canadian City to Live In

I have had a  "Huh?!  Whatdya know" moment today.  On  Money Sense Magazine's Best Places to Live List  Regina is ranked 5th!!  Out of 190 Canadian Cities. And my hometown of Estevan was 24th - out of 190!!  Estevan has the lowest unemployment rate in Canada.  Huh. Many Western Canadian cities have moved up on the list (I must point out that Regina was ranked #1 of the w. can. cities :)  ). I found it pretty interesting.  You can click on the link to see their methodology.  Although I don't think I saw "weather" taken into consideration or given a ranking! I will try to appreciate my city more.  On that note - we took in the "I love Regina" day festivities last weekend and soon I hope to put up some pictures of that.  My nephew Zack won something for his chalk drawing competition at Victoria Park.  He's so good at that stuff.  It was pretty cool.  I'll get a pic of that up as well.

A Little Whine with that Cheese

No pictures today.  Just a bit of an update on our week.  Justin has been working a tonne of overtime in the past month and it has made me think of single mothers out there and has made me wish I helped them out more when I had free time.  Besides being with the kids 24/7 and doing all the housework and errands and groceries and meal planning and budgeting there is also car and van issues (they both need to have a little job done on them in the next while) and yardwork and finishing up reno's and still trying to spend quality time with the kids.  My work outs have been the first thing to go.  Why is that?  I have felt overwhelmed this week and very anxious and stressed.  I hate saying "I'm stressed out" and usually refuse to use those words.  They are overused.  But even when you don't say it, sometimes it is still true!  I feel a lot better (read - more positive) this morning and Justin figures he has about another week with this project.  So - I will believe hi

Making the Most of Minot

It was our 17th wedding anniversary last weekend and we decided to get away together. Oh, where shall we go? Vegas? Rome? NYC? Nah - let's just live the simple life, take one night and go to North Dakota. We were super excited.  Ok - maybe I'm being a little sarcastic.  Except for the excited part.  We were to the point where even one night to ourselves, anywhere, is a real treat and so we made the most of it and pretended that we had never been to Minot before.  We had a tonne of fun.  Here are a few 'highlights' of our trip. We don't have an Olive Garden and it is one of my favorites so we went there twice :) It was a wonderfully warm day so I got a fancy strawberry lemonade - YUM! When you are in a new place you have to check out the parks and tourist sights right?  So we headed to the famed Scandinavian Heritage Center.  This is actually where we got engaged 18 years ago so - bonus! We love going to movies together and it's

A Fantastically Full and Fun Friday

We really made the most of a weekend this past weekend. First we headed to Estevan on thursday night because Caden didn't have school on Friday.  Since we were up and ready by 8 am we decided to go and visit Sara at the school where she works while they were doing their breakfast program. I always like being able to picture people where they work and what their life really looks like day to day so that was pretty fun. You may notice that throughout these pictures, Liam is not cooperating.  He did have fun, just didn't want to be in pictures this day.  He's a stubborn monkey. It's Megan's school too so Sara took us to find her and we got to say Hello before her classes started. Then we went to playground number one.  We decided that today would be a perfect day to do some Park Hopping.  That was on our 'list', inspired by Trinda. Park number two - still at the school though.  My dad had been helping at the breakfast at the school so we w
