Making the Most of Minot

It was our 17th wedding anniversary last weekend and we decided to get away together. Oh, where shall we go? Vegas? Rome? NYC? Nah - let's just live the simple life, take one night and go to North Dakota. We were super excited.  Ok - maybe I'm being a little sarcastic.  Except for the excited part.  We were to the point where even one night to ourselves, anywhere, is a real treat and so we made the most of it and pretended that we had never been to Minot before.  We had a tonne of fun.  Here are a few 'highlights' of our trip.

We don't have an Olive Garden and it is one of my favorites so we went there twice :)

It was a wonderfully warm day so I got a fancy strawberry lemonade - YUM!
When you are in a new place you have to check out the parks and tourist sights right?  So we headed to the famed Scandinavian Heritage Center.  This is actually where we got engaged 18 years ago so - bonus!

We love going to movies together and it's a big deal for us now that we almost never get to do it anymore.  We saw "what to expect when you are expecting".  Not stellar but we related, in one way or another, to almost every storyline so we got a kick out of it and even a couple of emotional moments.  Justin really gets into his movies...

and always makes me laugh...
Later, it was time for gifts and this was something I had seen on pinterest that led me to another couple's blog.  They make a date night a week a priority and while I always thought that we would do the same, I'm pretty happy with one a month these days!
What it is, is a box with 12 envelopes.  Each envelope describes a date night for that month.  So June is to go and watch football and eat appetizers somewhere.  July is to get ice cream and go kayaking at the park.  August is Cinema Under the Stars at Victoria park and so it goes.  I was really excited to do this and for us to start moving back to making our relationship a priority.  When we knew we were having all the babies and multiple baby tv reality shows were on all the time we agreed to do our best but to understand that the next little while might just be about survival and that's what it was.  But we survived those high demand little baby days and are out of that fog.  Time to get focused on the rest of what matters to us now too!!  And that includes making time for each other on a more regular basis.
Breakfast by the pool ;)

And no holidays photo shoot is complete without pictures of the yummy food you eat.
And it was yummy.

So, we really enjoyed our time together.  It was really good to get away.  But don't get me wrong.  As exciting as Minot was, we don't want to pigeon hole ourselves so we are certainly open to other locals for other anniversaries and let's just say, if things go as we have planned, the pasta I will be eating on our 20th wedding anniversary won't be from the Olive Garden!!

They are here. They are really really here!!!

It was a cool day. Almost too cold. The kind of cold that makes you rethink your very existence.... Boy. I am waaaay to tired for that. So I will give you the un-dramatic version. So, we are getting bombarded with requests for an update and pictures. So I will oblige and provide you with all the gory details. Actually, there are no gory details. In what can only be described as an amazing answer to many prayers, the new Mooney babies were brought into this world with no problems what so ever. We entered the hospital at 10:00 in the morning and were taken to the surgery room around 12:00 noon. At exactly 12:38, the first baby, Dylan Michael was born weighing in at 6 pounds even. Then, also at 12:38, Evan Timothy also charged into the world weighing in at 5.2 pounds. Then, at 12:39 Liam David was born weighing 4.8 pounds. For those of you good at math, that is a whopping 16 pounds worth of babies. 16 POUNDS!!! And even though them just being born at 36 weeks and 5 days isn

The 2 Week Wait is Over

The waiting is finally over. Today was the day - after 2 long weeks of waiting - that I went for my official pregnancy test at the dr.'s office. I had done a couple of Home Pregnancy Tests so I pretty much knew what to expect. I have been praying constantly, as have many of you out there (thank you so much for that). Well, God heard all of us and we are happy to report that the test came back positive. We are really happy but also very cautious . It was only 5 months ago today that we lost our pregnancy at 5 1/2 weeks. We are going to just continue praying that God will watch over this pregnancy and that a healthy baby will be born. We give Thanks to God !
