Cathedral Village Arts Festival

Our neighbourhood had their annual Cathedral Village Arts Festival last week and weekend. The weather on the weekend warmed up just in time for most of the outdoor events. We weren't sure what to expect having never been before but we had a really good time. Friday night we headed over to a park just off of 13th here where they had a drum circle, apuppet parade and a belly dancer. Caden was just having a blast. There were kids everywhere and just a really festive atmosphere.







On saturday they had some dancers on the stage at the same park and then we visited the street fair which was down much of 13th street. I was especially impressed with all the kids that performed at the dances. We watched Irish dance. The cutest thing to see and then there was caribbean dancing. I wish I had an ounce of the rhythm those kids had! Wow. At the street fair there were tonnes of vendors with items to buy and items to eat. There were performers all over as well. That included kids playing the violin or clarinet and breakdancers and jugglers. It was quite interesting and very crowded. We ate lunch just off the sidewalk while listening to some music from the craven country jamboree stage.




Much to my surprise I'm starting to enjoy Regina. This city really does have stuff to do and stuff going on. I'm having fun! Too bad it wasn't summer all year round though. In september is the Canadian Country Music Awards which will bring lots of fun little concerts and events around too. Mosaic is this coming weekend. Maybe I'll get to take in a bit of it. We'll see.

Looks like fun Jen. Kayla got to go on Fri, with her music teacher,so it was nice to see your pictures of what it was like for her.
This warming up, getting to go outside time of year is so refreshing isn't it??

I always knew you'd come to love the Queen City! it's got a lot going for it. hey, i know the male drum leader in your first pic. glad to see the weather is nice enough to get out and enjoy. wish we could go to mosaic! eat a perogie or taco for me...i'm missing those!

those pictures of break dancers brought back memories for Adam. Way back in 1982....Yea. Those were good times. hehe!

It was a cool day. Almost too cold. The kind of cold that makes you rethink your very existence.... Boy. I am waaaay to tired for that. So I will give you the un-dramatic version. Did you know?

So, did you know that exercising regularly can help you have more energy!? Okay, so did I. And did you know that eating healthily also helps with that? As does going to bed at a decent time at night? I guess we all know that but I haven't been good at acting like I know that. I was getting frustrated. I was just so tired in the evenings. I wasn't having the kind of quality time with my kids or my husband that I wanted. I didn't feel like going out with friends in the evening. I was okay during the day but that's not when I am with my people, for the most part anyway. Sometimes, I would fall asleep on the couch before my kids bedtime!! If I wasn't asleep, I was lethargic and unmotivated. Just not the me that I wanted to be. Well, thank you all for your guesses. I found them interesting. I had one person guess 4 babies. I don't let him come to our blog anymore. Well, after 5 months of waiting, we have had the ultrasound and we now know what the gender is for each of the wee little gaffers. If you want to see, click the link below.
