Summertime - Part Two - Our Holiday

Justin took a couple of weeks off in July and we started our vacation by going to a Rider game.  It ended up working out that we were able to go through a work thing and had passes to the Green and White room with a big buffet and we even had a parking pass to park in the lot right beside the entrances.  NICE!  It was fun and a beautiful night weather wise and we won of course.  The Riders always win when Justin goes to the game :)

We went to Winnipeg for a few days.  Our first day we went to the zoo and spent the day at Assiniboine park which included the children's garden/playground.

This was my favorite place - it was tropical!!  I didn't want to leave.

The playground at Assiniboine Park is fantastic and the kids absolutely loved it!

English Garden.  There were beautiful flowers and some fountains.
The kids wanted to throw money in and make wishes.

It was finally time to get out of the 38 with humidity heat so we went back to the hotel and played in their water park.  It was perfect for our kids.  They had a little slide, this medium slide and then the big waterslide.

We made Liam go on the waterslide and this was how much he liked that...
Evan loved it but didn't want to go by himself.  He would lose control and flip around and all over.  So Justin and I went down it A LOT.
Dylan and Caden just kept going over and over.  They would try it on their bellies and backwards and all that stuff.  Just had a blast!
A little more Liam's speed...
We also had a fantastic themed family room.  The kids room was decorated with dinosaurs and they had bunkbeds and their own bathroom.  This worked out really well for the 6 of us!

Day Two we went to Grand Beach for the day.
Again it was extremely hot and humid so the day in the water was perfect!

At the end of this day is when we decided that there was enough to do in Winnipeg for a few more days so decided to just do that instead of head any further east as was our original plan.  We liked our first hotel so much we went back.  Our dinosaur room wasn't available so we got the desert room.  Also cool!

Day Three was spent at The Forks.  Great kids playground there.

We took in the railway museum they have there.
The kids enjoyed seeing the trains and being able to go up into some of them.

We could peek through here and see the real passenger train about to leave.
I want to do that sometime.

We were able to go on a little boat 'tour' on the river at the Forks.  It was the first time on a boat for the kids and they seemed to enjoy it.  Liam did his predictable "I don't want to go on there" with a cry but he warmed up to it after a while.

Day Four we checked out of the hotel and went to a little amusement place on the west side of Winnipeg. Apparently they have 3 or 4 of these types of places with mini golf and go carts and some have waterparks and slides.  Wish we had something like that here again...

Bumper Boats.  We all got soaked.

Caden was big enough for his own go kart in the kids track.

Justin took Evan, Dylan and Caden each out on the big track separately.  Liam didn't want to go.

We attempted what became a very laughable mini golfing experience.  It was more like hockey - just keep hitting it til you score.  It was funny and a little tricky when they'd get it in the hole and then take off to the next hole.  They were all over the place at first.  We had to sit them down and explain how it worked and keep reminding them to wait their turn.  We ended up goign through as two groups of 3.  Still a little nuts.  Caden did great though.  I wish we'd been able to play a little more just with him.  We'll have to do that some time this summer.  Anyway - a few golfing shots.

It was another super hot day so we finished up here around lunchtime, had a bite to eat and hit the road for a weekend in Estevan.  I didn't take many pictures there but we had a lot of fun.  And that sums up our first week of holidays.  The second week was last week and it was a Stay- cation.  I'll post on that a little later....

They are here. They are really really here!!!

It was a cool day. Almost too cold. The kind of cold that makes you rethink your very existence.... Boy. I am waaaay to tired for that. So I will give you the un-dramatic version. So, we are getting bombarded with requests for an update and pictures. So I will oblige and provide you with all the gory details. Actually, there are no gory details. In what can only be described as an amazing answer to many prayers, the new Mooney babies were brought into this world with no problems what so ever. We entered the hospital at 10:00 in the morning and were taken to the surgery room around 12:00 noon. At exactly 12:38, the first baby, Dylan Michael was born weighing in at 6 pounds even. Then, also at 12:38, Evan Timothy also charged into the world weighing in at 5.2 pounds. Then, at 12:39 Liam David was born weighing 4.8 pounds. For those of you good at math, that is a whopping 16 pounds worth of babies. 16 POUNDS!!! And even though them just being born at 36 weeks and 5 days isn

The 2 Week Wait is Over

The waiting is finally over. Today was the day - after 2 long weeks of waiting - that I went for my official pregnancy test at the dr.'s office. I had done a couple of Home Pregnancy Tests so I pretty much knew what to expect. I have been praying constantly, as have many of you out there (thank you so much for that). Well, God heard all of us and we are happy to report that the test came back positive. We are really happy but also very cautious . It was only 5 months ago today that we lost our pregnancy at 5 1/2 weeks. We are going to just continue praying that God will watch over this pregnancy and that a healthy baby will be born. We give Thanks to God !
