Once again, Justin and the boys and I headed to Minot to hang out for the weekend, with my parents and my brothers and their families. I think this is the fourth year we have done this now and as a bonus, my uncle from Winnipeg and his two daughters also joined us. It was a really good time. I was, of course, a little stressed sometimes (sorry family) but we are still glad that we went and glad to have had a chance to give our kids some new experiences and for them (and us) to spend some time with aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents. When I put my pictures on here I seem to have lost my zoo pictures from my camera. I was really disappointed about that since there were some pretty cute ones in there. I'm hoping to get some from the rest of the family. We'll see. Anyway - here are some pics of us in Minot last weekend:
Dylan decided that he loved the pool. He was a complete daredevil. He wanted to play without Justin's help. He kept trying to jump into the pool away from where Justin was standing. Yikes. A little too fearless if you ask me!
Evan liked swimming too but was his usual relaxed contented self about it. He was the only one that kept wanting to walk into the pool when we weren't swimming.
Then there was Liam. Terrified little shivering Liam. HE HATED IT! We tried. We hugged him tight. I took him, Justin tried taking him. NO WAY. He never warmed up to it so we'll have to try again sometime. Poor kid.
We were glad to have brought our play yard along. The kids did well in it, as long as there was someone to play with them. Their cousins did a good job of keeping them entertained.
Against my better judgement, we braved a restaurant, twice. Oh my. 19 month old triplets in a restaurant. Let's just say that I do not recommend it!
My mom has this great little pool. It was nice to set that up and put the kids in it, within the play yard. Kept them busy, especially Evan. I guess he was in there for hours.
Liam enjoying a little 'smash the wiggle cars apart' game. A little aggressive! Must have been releasing some pent up anxiety from the swimming incident.
the boys, doing a little gaming....
oh LOOK! Liam touched water!!! :)
Snack time
Caden hanging out in the room
The boys tried to investigate every once in a while but there was always someone keeping an eye on them.
Arcade time - it's great that they are still young enough to have fun at the arcade, playing the games, without spending anything! Good times.
On sunday we checked out and headed to the play park.
Liam didn't like this scary car either. He'll stick with the slide, thank you very much. He likes to stay on the safe side of things. Have I mentioned that he and I are a lot alike? I almost cried when I had to go into the cold pool too! Hot tub any day! Maybe that's what we should have done with him. Next time!
Dylan loved everything at the park. He thinks he's 3 and so had to move on from the 'little kiddie' area to the bigger kid section. He's a climbing machine.
We also did a little shopping. Mostly for the kids. I was reminiscing about the old days when we got to look for stuff for ourselves.... ahhhh. But it was fun to find some cute things for the boys. I liked it. And like I said, zoo pictures to follow - if possible! All in all, lots of fun, a nice change of scenery and a good time with family.

Re: Liam not liking the water - Josh hated swimming when we first started taking him; now he's the best of the 3 and spends the most time in the water. Liam could very well end up the same :)
