Our Boys

The kids are all changing so much, so fast! I haven't been keeping up with that on here. So here is a little "where are they now" ...

CADEN -

Caden is a couple of weeks away from turning three and I could go on and on about him and all the things he is up to these days. I feel like he has changed from a two yr. old to a three yr. old in just this past month or so. He has always talked a lot and pretty well but I'm hearing more and more words and phrases that I hadn't heard him use before. He says s's in place of f's and a few other little things but when we practice he fixes it. He's learning so much. He loves letters and numbers and likes to learn about them. He likes us to read to him. At the same time though, he is SO full of energy. His favorite thing is to go downstairs with dad and play some hockey, some basketball, a little soccer and whatever other sport they can come up with. They also play swords and he now has a little golf set that he is enjoying. Lately, he's been glad to get outside. We've moved the hockey stuff outside and he spent almost all day outside yesterday. This warm weather, and especially summer, are going to be a real blast with him.

Caden has also really gotten into computer games. He plays games on Nickjr. whenever we will let him. Which is probably every other day for a bit. I'm not thrilled about it but, as you can expect from a son of Justin, he is really good at it! He also loves the Little Einsteins right now. He still loves his trains and plays with those a little bit every day. He likes to sing and will make up words to songs, just like his daddy does.

Like I said, I could go on and on but I won't! :) He's a great kid that loves to give hugs and kisses and to tell us he loves us. Melts my heart!

DYLAN -

At 5.5 months Dylan is becoming more and more interactive. He grabs stuff, he rolls over all of the time. He stands pretty well in his exersaucer. He eats well and has eaten all of his cereal the past couple of days. He will usually sleep from 845 to 5ish, sometimes 6, if we're lucky. So, not too bad. He is lifting himself off of the ground a bit, when on his tummy, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him crawling as soon as he can. He just wants to be moving. He hates to just sit or lie on his back. Actually, he never stays on his back anymore.

What is really funny is how he'll eye up a toy that one of the other kids has and you know that he just wants to get over there and snatch it up. Pretty funny.

Dylan still has what I call his 'honk' for a cry. It's intermittent but constant when he gets going but it hardly ever has any intensity. It's as if he knows that we'll eventually get there as long as he keeps up the noise! And we do :).

He has a ready smile and I'd describe his personality to be 'pleasant'. He's just a really sweet guy. Did I mention though that he is also a big guy?! He's completely beyond what is to be expected from a singleton, let alone a triplet. I'm just trying to decide how long it'll be before he's bigger than Caden!

EVAN -

Evan is the most content. He'll stay in one place for a long time - perfectly content and quiet. If he is hungry or troubled by something though, he'll just wail at the top of his lungs. And he doesn't really work up to it either. It's all or nothing from this guy. When he cries his eyes get all puffy and red.

He figured out 'rolling over' last tuesday and does it quite often. He has liked his cereal and still guzzles his bottles most of the time. He still sleeps the most. He slept from 830 - 630 last night. Love it!!

I have to say it again. Evan is just 'content'. He'll smile when smiled at but seems to take his time making eye content or turning to a noise. I sometimes have wondered if something's wrong but I think he is just that laid back. Oh and he really likes to watch tv. If the tv is on he will twist himself around to watch. Just like his daddy and his big brother! One funny thing he does is watch his hand. I realize this isn't that unusual. Babies find their hands and feet and it's all a new discovery. The difference is that I will notice Evan turning his hand all around right in front of his face and looking very enthralled - and he's done it every day for weeks. He just LOVES his hand. He likes to watch people too. He'll watch Dylan jump in the jolly jumper and be completely entertained. Liam likes to watch too but Evan is more an observer, as in 'oh isn't that interesting and Liam is more intense about it, like 'what is going on? who's that? what's that sound?'

LIAM -

Liam is so little. He's just this light tiny little thing. His hands and feet are smaller than his brothers' but his eyes are huge and he looks at everything. He doesn't miss a beat. Whether he is eating or fighting sleep he is hearing and seeing everything. He loves to watch Caden play and he just started making this new noise. It's a very high pitched squealing noise and he makes it for long periods of time. It's a little loud but still pretty cute!

Liam is sleeping the least right now. He seems to wake up every single day at around 430. It makes for a tired mom and dad but I just go to bed at 930 so that I can survive it! And he wants to stay awake for a while at that time too. He seems to be a light sleeper and hears his brothers cough or move around. We separated him from the rest of us when we were in Estevan and he slept longer so we might have to try that at home too.

As for the cereal. He eats it pretty well. Hasn't had a full feeding yet - gets tired of it but is doing well still. He keeps up with the other two with the bottles. He hasn't rolled over yet but tries a lot and will wiggle around, whether he's on his front or back. He loves the colorful toys but, like I said, he really loves to watch everything and take it all in.

Oh and he slobbers!! He sucks on his hands or anything else he can get into his mouth. He's always soaking wet. He'll get both fists in his mouth or he'll chew on his blanket or sleeve - anything.

And when he smiles - his entire face lights up. It's fantastic. He'll even sort of move his head into his shoulder and act kind of shy. It's so sweet. Those would be my words for Liam - "sweet" and "intense".

All three babies love to watch their big brother and he loves each of them. Every day he picks 'his baby' and it always changes. He seems to think that we each get one, since there are three of them. If they are crying he'll sometimes get them a soother or sing them a song. I just love it.

It's been so wonderful already, I can only imagine the moments and memories to come. I think my heart may just burst one of these days! :)

Thanks for the update. I often wonder where they are at developmentally, or what their personalities are shaping up to be. Reading what's changed for everyone makes me feel close, and more like I'm not missing all of it, even though I am!

Hi Jen, my kid's favorite computer place is KidRocket. It is a web browser that you can download that will take Caden to about 13 really cool websites that have games for fun and learning. My favorite is Starfall.com. The KidRocket web browser makes it a safe place for them to be on the internet, Dawson (3) and Willow (8) both really like it. I love hearing about your kids!

They are here. They are really really here!!!

It was a cool day. Almost too cold. The kind of cold that makes you rethink your very existence.... Boy. I am waaaay to tired for that. So I will give you the un-dramatic version. So, we are getting bombarded with requests for an update and pictures. So I will oblige and provide you with all the gory details. Actually, there are no gory details. In what can only be described as an amazing answer to many prayers, the new Mooney babies were brought into this world with no problems what so ever. We entered the hospital at 10:00 in the morning and were taken to the surgery room around 12:00 noon. At exactly 12:38, the first baby, Dylan Michael was born weighing in at 6 pounds even. Then, also at 12:38, Evan Timothy also charged into the world weighing in at 5.2 pounds. Then, at 12:39 Liam David was born weighing 4.8 pounds. For those of you good at math, that is a whopping 16 pounds worth of babies. 16 POUNDS!!! And even though them just being born at 36 weeks and 5 days isn

The 2 Week Wait is Over

The waiting is finally over. Today was the day - after 2 long weeks of waiting - that I went for my official pregnancy test at the dr.'s office. I had done a couple of Home Pregnancy Tests so I pretty much knew what to expect. I have been praying constantly, as have many of you out there (thank you so much for that). Well, God heard all of us and we are happy to report that the test came back positive. We are really happy but also very cautious . It was only 5 months ago today that we lost our pregnancy at 5 1/2 weeks. We are going to just continue praying that God will watch over this pregnancy and that a healthy baby will be born. We give Thanks to God !
