I'm gonna miss this

We had some more drumming - on bowls this time. They started out using all of them but you'll notice....

they all ended up at the noisiest metal one! Figures :)

Poor neglected plastic bowls!
Oh - and we did decorate the tree. The little kids have touched some of the stuff on the bottom. It's mostly non breakable stuff so I let them investigate. Dylan is the most interested. Liam and Evan barely pay any attention at all. So, it's working out so far. You can see how interested they are in it, in this picture:

I hesitate to talk too much about what life is actually like because I'm afraid it'll sound like I'm ungrateful (we are so so grateful) but I will say this. It is very tiring. These kids are busy and as much as I try to think "it's not that different than having one." - it most certainly is! I can't shut the fridge because there is always a kid there. When they are all pulling my hair what am I supposed to do? When I go to someone's house, how do I keep 3 one year olds from tearing everything apart? I can only hold onto one at a time. With one - like when I had Caden - you do things one handed and you sometimes carry the kid on your hip so that you can do something. Not an option here. Unless I was an octopus - with hips - at least three. So - although that sounds incredibly attractive :) it's not the case here. I can't open the gate when I get to the top of the stairs with a laundry basket in my hands so I stand there and then I chuck the basket a little past the kids, then I sit them down one at a time and then I quickly open the gate and slip in. This usually makes one or all of them mad and now they are crying or throwing the laundry all over the floor. At the same time Caden will be calling me to help him in the bathroom and Dylan will be dumping his bottle of milk all over the floor and they all need diaper changes and lunch! uuuuuuuuuggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh. Three crawl all over each other and they steal stuff ALL THE TIME so that you can't leave them on their own a whole lot. That would just assure screaming within minutes when one of them smacks the other with a toy car.

I love them so much and it's all worth it. But unfortunately - good warm feelings don't take away the exhaustion as much as you'd hope! Luckily they do have the most adorable smiles and laughs. They are hugging and kissing now. Liam even makes a little kiss sound and leans right in. SO CUTE! And I can just hear grandpa Jack now "you're gonna miss this" - and I know that he is absolutely right!

So...are you saying that going for quads isn't an option? You're still young...if not quads, how about twin little Mooney girls!!!That would be a high pitched whine to assault your ears...oh...by the way I heard Josh say something about drums for the boys...it's gonna be "music"...

Jen, I know it's so hard. I find the boys exhausting lately. They have both recently started having fits when they don't get what they want. Lachlan is running all over the place. They are into everything. I can't even load the dishwasher unless I put them in the play yard. Honestly, I find work is a big break - down time, quiet and adult company. LOL. But there is a trade off for that, too. The morning rush is exhausting, as is the first 2 hours when we get home and they are cranky. We certainly live smaller than we used to, and people don't always understand why certain things are too much of a challenge to do/attend so we have to pass. I have accepted that now.

Hang in there. I know it's even harder for you as you have one more child than I do and Maggie is so much older than Caden. I will be praying for you. Just put one foot in front of the other and don't look too far ahead. I take it hour by hours sometimes.((((HUGS)))))

They are here. They are really really here!!!

It was a cool day. Almost too cold. The kind of cold that makes you rethink your very existence.... Boy. I am waaaay to tired for that. So I will give you the un-dramatic version. So, we are getting bombarded with requests for an update and pictures. So I will oblige and provide you with all the gory details. Actually, there are no gory details. In what can only be described as an amazing answer to many prayers, the new Mooney babies were brought into this world with no problems what so ever. We entered the hospital at 10:00 in the morning and were taken to the surgery room around 12:00 noon. At exactly 12:38, the first baby, Dylan Michael was born weighing in at 6 pounds even. Then, also at 12:38, Evan Timothy also charged into the world weighing in at 5.2 pounds. Then, at 12:39 Liam David was born weighing 4.8 pounds. For those of you good at math, that is a whopping 16 pounds worth of babies. 16 POUNDS!!! And even though them just being born at 36 weeks and 5 days isn...

Did you know?

So, did you know that exercising regularly can help you have more energy!? Okay, so did I. And did you know that eating healthily also helps with that? As does going to bed at a decent time at night? I guess we all know that but I haven't been good at acting like I know that. I was getting frustrated. I was just so tired in the evenings. I wasn't having the kind of quality time with my kids or my husband that I wanted. I didn't feel like going out with friends in the evening. I was okay during the day but that's not when I am with my people, for the most part anyway. Sometimes, I would fall asleep on the couch before my kids bedtime!! If I wasn't asleep, I was lethargic and unmotivated. Just not the me that I wanted to be. It doesn't sound like much, but I just couldn't stand wanting to be intentional but not having the energy to do the things that mattered to me. And my kids are 9,9,9 and 11. That's old enough that I can't use the...

Am I really having triplets?

What does a person blog about the day before they have triplets? I mean - there are a million things going through my head but I can hardly sort them out, let alone write them down. It's all just very amazing, surreal, scary, exhilarating and on and on and on. I think there is just too much so I'll just ask that you pray for all of us and we'll try to post news as soon as we can. I likely won't be at the computer til the end of the week (if ever again :) ) but Justin will check it and try to update everyone.
