Our House

It's been so long since I posted! It went by fast for me. We've just been working on the house a bit. We have painted Caden's room and got the upstairs pretty much settled and livable. We've done a few things with the yard. There is still so much I want to do and I feel like I have so little time. I keep wondering when the doctor is finally going to say - ok - stop doing stuff - or even - stay in bed!! Yikes. It's pretty much guaranteed to happen but the question is how long will I be able to put it off for? I have another appt. a week from today so we'll see what he says. I feel fine. I feel pretty pregnant and I am growing so big so fast but there's nothing out of the ordinary from my perspective. My back was bugging me for a while but seems to be a bit better lately. I pretty much don't have a belly button anymore. I feel little movements every day which is fun. I can't believe that there are 3 little people all squished inside of me. I kind of feel sorry for the poor things. They didn't ask for this drama!!

Here are a few pictures of all that we have inherited in buying this house - good and bad :)

Front of house - where's the living room window?

Oh - there it is behind the humongous evergreen tree

We inherited some dead grass - also due to the humongous evergreen tree

A redeeming part of the yard - I also inherited rose bushes. Caterpillars are eating the leaves but we're trying to do something about that.

Caden and Bailey have lots of room to run around, swim, play in the castle (and yes - they both do all those things )

There are raspberry bushes behind the castle - pretty fun.

This is where I should be sitting down and relaxing more. That is in the plans... for later.

Our living room. Lots more space but kind of dark and dreary at the moment.

Some more lovely features....
All the knobs on all the closets and kitchen cabinets were really dated so that was an easy update to start off with.

All the light fixtures are different and equally interesting.

This tp roll holder is spray painted a textured green color as is the light fixture in this bathroom and the towel holders and drawer pulls and cupboard knobs. Those all had to go too!

The most popular feature of this house so far is this fabulous carpet that covers our entire basement. Isn't it something else?

Another wonderful 70's feature - Cast iron swirly railings and forest green carpet.

So there are a few pictures. We are happy to have a bigger place and have really enjoyed it all already. We use the yard every day. And the few dated aspects really aren't so bad. We'll water our grass and try to get some of it back. I'll try to learn how to take care of roses and raspberry bushes. We'll just keep making it home. The best part so far has been being able to have people here. I don't think a day has gone by that we haven't had someone over. I love it!! And that is what will make this house feel more like a home to us. So come on over.....
